Ode to Heath Ledger
a gay cowboy you did play
but I forgive your fruity foray
for the joker you did portray

My idea of extreme sports, mainly intense internet surfing, presents marginal payoffs. This includes this rather odd discovery. Apparently some Sikhs believe that origins of male Muslim seductive mojo is black magic. This is their only explanation for the apparently high incidence of Sikh women abandoning their religion in order to date or marry Muslim men. I could think of a few hundred other reasons, but really, would any of them be funnier that black magic? Here’s a screen capture of the comments. Here is the original link.

I recently received this email from R. and I thought it was worth sharing here:
Asalaam Aleikum Warahmatullah Wabarakatu,
Brothers, Sisters, Friends,
The biggest news since, I dunno…. NO MORE WONDERING where the nearest Masjid is… NO MORE TRYING to find a halal spot close by.
Alhamdulliah, I have been helping Shahed, the founder of Zabihah.com and Salatomatic.com, to have downloadable GPS coordinates for all the Masajid and Halal Restaurants on the websites, FREE!!!
That’s almost EVERY masjid and halal restaurant in the nation. He still will make a few updates to the format, but a working version is available online. I was only able to test it out with a Garmin, so try with yours and send him comments insha Allah. If you don’t have a GPS, get one.
Spread the word to your friends insha Allah.
Here’s what to do to set yourself free insha Allah and not be worried about where to pray again:
1) Go to Salatomatic.com & Zabihah.com:
2) When you browse a region, go to the bottom of the page and you will see:
Click here for a CSV POI file for GPS systems”
3) You can download this to your GPS insha Allah. Change the filename to the region before uploading to your GPS (e.g. “NJ.csv”), he will add this naming convention in his updates insha Allah.
4) When prayer time comes, or you get a hunger attack, find the nearest spot with your GPS insha Allah.
Enjoy!!!

I was totally blown away when I saw this. Apparently it’s a robot called “Big Dog.” It’s pretty creepy too.

Here is what Michael Sheuer, former CIA analyst and expert on Al-Qaida and Osama bin Laden had to say about what’s going on in the Balkans and what is likely to happen in the future.
Again, McCain, Obama, and Clinton joined Bush in gleefully applauding Kosovo’s declaration of independence from Serbia. And what has that action yielded? It lit the fuse burning toward a new Balkan war because America’s bipartisan political class wants to peddle its version of democracy even if it means stripping the most politically sacred portion of Christian Serbia and giving it to a Muslim regime that will be a magnet for support from al-Qaeda, other Islamists, and America’s jihad-supporting Arab Peninsula allies. Bush and the three candidates have committed America’s prestige in a region where no U.S. interests exist. These interventionists will eventually waste the lives of U.S. troops in a bloody attempt to protect “U. S. credibility” by trying to stop Serbia’s inevitable Russian-backed recovery of Kosovo and the attendant slaughter of Muslim Kosovars. When the Balkans’ smoke clears, only the Islamists will be victorious.

Sorry about the long departure but I was working on a new site. It’s Islamify.com. What’s that you ask. Well, Islamify is designed so that Muslims can submit links to articles, videos or whatever about what they are interested in while also voting (aka islamifying) stuff that has been submitted by others. Stories that receive the most votes make it to the front page thus giving them more exposure. This way Muslims can be see what’s percolating in the Ummah. If you have a blog or just come across something really interesting and want to share submit it on Islamify.com. Visit the site, register and begin Islamifying your favorite stuff now. To learn more about Islamify read the about page.
Also you may be interested in knowing that due to some constructive criticism I have decided to move all of my educational theory articles to another as yet undisclosed site. TheManOfFewWords.com will become a general blog where people may feast upon my unique (and, yes I heard you, brief) opinions and points of view. After all what kind of person would I be if I deprived the world from my sparkling and unbounded commentary. Stay tuned for all the good stuff coming soon.
