tMoFW gets a Makeover
Posted by themanoffewwords under Update
So I thought the old banner up top was a bit sloppy so I redesigned it and viola! Let me know what you guys think. If there is some great public outcry for the old one then I’ll be sure to ignore it. However, if you guys have some suggestions that I like, I will surely finagle this one and make it prettier, inshallah.

mmm…the word “few” doesn’t look nice.
February 23rd, 2008 at 12:43 pm
…and the tag line is too small (size-wise)
February 23rd, 2008 at 12:44 pm
…and the sun is not blending in. Sorry lol

Anes, nah man you dont have to apologize, I love constructive criticism (or funny criticism).
I gotta say I feel the same way about the sun … i’m cool with the tag line size so long as it’s readable. I also think “few” needs to be tweaked.
As for “few” you don’t like the font or the fact that its encased in a square?

I liked the old one better. This one looks so-so. :l
February 23rd, 2008 at 2:11 pm
and wait….why would you want to ignore the public outcry? Isn’t that mean?
February 23rd, 2008 at 2:11 pm
ignoring your readers’ thoughts…
February 23rd, 2008 at 2:50 pm
They are philistines, ignore them.
February 23rd, 2008 at 2:51 pm
Sure “few” should be tweaked, but the square is not very nice. I think it’s over-tweaked.
February 24th, 2008 at 2:02 pm
Philistines? Some ppl need to learn to talk respectfully. Yes.
I liked the old one better…but I guess my “outcry” has been ignored, so I will not waste my words.
Honestly, I don’t care about the design…art is subjective.

Chutney everywhere.
When I get the chance I’m going to tweak this one and see where things go. But what’s really important is content. I appreciate all the feedback. I’ll hit you guys up again when I redesign.
And Misbah, I do appreciate your love for the original. Inshallah you will like the newer one. I thought it was time I had something more polished anyway. Oh and yeah , maybe ignoring a public outcry is mean but the only one who really defended the old one was you and as valuable as I consider you, you don’t constitute the public.

Ok. Send me the psd file, please!
February 25th, 2008 at 1:58 pm
LOL, that’s really funny because when I designed this last one I was like, this is it… this is the one! Apparently, it needs more work. I definitely think I need to align it a little better but I was pretty impressed with it. Ill send you the PSD anyway and see if you can do better.

Manoffewwords, when you say that you will be ignoring the outcry for the old design, the majority of the people who liked the old one will not verbalize their thoughts, anyways. I consitute the part of the public whose voice was preemptively suppressed. So yes, I do constitute the public!
In the end, its your blog. You have the right to design it as you want.
And yeah…actually the present one looks better than the one that was right before it.

Anyone want samosas?
February 25th, 2008 at 4:17 pm
Misbah … you win the debate. I concede, you’re right and I am very, very wrong.
As for the samosas, you had better not be teasing.
February 26th, 2008 at 6:05 am
Please put up the “other” banner. I cringe everytime I check your website
February 26th, 2008 at 2:15 pm
Are you serious?! I am in love with this banner. Yo I tried to put yours up yesterday and it was supposed to be a jpg not a gif for it work. Don’t ask me why. But really read that Robin Williams book, the Non-designers design book and then take a look at the banner you made, only then will you understand.

ok ok … its getting there! not bad i still kinda think the tagline needs to be bigger… the a’s look funny ! =)
February 29th, 2008 at 2:22 am
ofcourse…you were not just very very wrong but very very very wrong! I am glad you accepted that so enthusiastically. MashaAllah.

why did you stop moderating my comments before publishing them?
February 29th, 2008 at 3:13 am
i liked the moderation.
February 29th, 2008 at 3:10 pm
Misbah … what’s the word on those samosas?
March 4th, 2008 at 7:28 pm
No pics of Desi kids on this blog hence the samosas have made a u-turn, I suppose!
